A French provincial (Bresse) armoire

Very nice armoire of the first third of the 19th century representative of the regional art of the Bresse area, France.

The frame in walnut is finely carved. The back in oak (sign of quality). The front panels developed in burr ash.

Its rich ornamentation is characteristic of the Bress area i.e. basket of flowers, owl's head, horseshoe, branches and waterleaves, wheat sheaves, crosses and the two daisies.

The doors are large frame.
Long sheets of iron on the height.
Carved sides.
It is complemented and balanced by a large drawer with wrought iron handles.

It has its locks, and his key escutcheons.
Fine state of conservation.

Beautiful combination of walnut and ash burl that brings to this piece a very decorative harmony of a beautiful warm tone monochrome.
