Folding chest of drawers, Rome, second quarter of the 18th century, veneered and inlaid in different woods
The cabinet is veneered and inlaid with rosewood, kingwood, cherry, mahogany, olive, boxwood and jacaranda. The lower part opens with three drawers separated by crosspieces and, on the sides, strips of pilasters. The flap reveals compartments, two drawers and a small sliding tray. On the sides, the movement of the projectors is marked by inlaid pilasters ending in a volute. The displaced upper part has a central door inlaid with different woods to represent a fountain with plant motifs and wild heads. On the sides five drawers on each side and one below. The tympanum, is adorned with winding volutes and a turned pinnacle and on the sides are two secrets. Wavy hips and cantilevered feet. Dimensions: 235x125x67cm
