Netsuke – A rare model of a recumbent hare, Japan Edo

Netsuke – A very fine and rare model of a recumbent hare (usagi in Japan) its feet on the side of a hollow log, which is finely carved with splits and bark that parly covers the tree branch. The head naturalistically depicted with incided hair and inlaid eyes of brown horn. Natural himotoshi on the log with a beautiful honey natural patina under the base. Osaka school. Length : 5,6 cm.
