Offered by Galerie Sylvain Levy Alban
A large French Allegorical oil painting on canvas of the presumed marriage in 1661 of Marie Mancini, niece of Cardinal Mazarin with Prince Lorenzo Onofrio Colonna dressed as Meleager and Atalante, surrounded with dogs and a young girl ( maybe the younger Mancini sister aged twelve) with a cupid throwing an arrow from a cloud .
Attributed to Justus van Egmont, (1601-1674) , a pupil of Rubens installed in Paris where he painted at the same period king Louis XIV , his brother Philip of Orleans and the Prince de Condé.
In a spectacular17th century Louis XIV peirod carved and gilt wood frame ( gilding restored) , most probably its original frame.
Provenance: A Parisian private collection since 1950.
A certificate by Mr Moana Weil-Curiel will be given to the buyer.
