The present pair of distinctive antique gilt metal candlesticks are inspired by the en vogue neo-classicism of 19th century Europe. Firmly balanced on squared bases with plinths showcasing a decorative cornucopia motif, the stems rise with the graceful interruption of a reeded urn form feature surmounted by blooming palm leaves. The candlesticks branch off into two stems boasting a volute-manner acanthi decoration. The cups for the candles are elegantly engraved with neo-classical patterns.
Condition: commensurate with age. Some rubbing to the gilding.
