A silver chocolate pot with wooden handle, hinged lid and spout decorated with foliage. The base is decorated with wavelets and the body with a twisted motif. The flower-shaped handle swivels to reveal the opening.Hallmark: Bointaburet A Paris.

Boin-Taburet: Georges Boin and his son-in-law Emile Taburet, both goldsmiths, founded Boin-Taburet in Paris around 1875. They created a number of goldsmiths' pieces inspired by the magnificent services of the 18th century. At the Exposition Universelle in Paris in 1878 and again at the Exposition Universelle in 1889, the company presented a number of shaped pieces, such as table centrepieces inspired by Juste Aurèle Meissonnier (1695-1750), for which they won a gold medal, as well as tea services in the Louis XIV, Louis XV and Louis XVI styles. Boin-Taburet's sumptuous displays at the various World Fairs contributed to the revival of 18th-century styles.
