Regence mirror

A Regence water gilded mirror dating from the first half of the 18th century. The convex profile is decorated with palmettes in the corners, fleuron on the middle parts and foliages. The reflection is made of a tin and mercury amalgam which causes the mirror’s glittering asperities which catch the light.
