Oil on canvas
Signed lower left: "Léon De Smet"

Léon De Smet was a Flemish painter and the brother of Gustave De Smet.
His oeuvre is considered to belong to impressionism, expressionism and pointilism. He painted mainly with touches, but he also had periods where he painted in large surfaces. His color palette is usually somewhat more muted, although in each case a great diversity of colors emerges in his works. His compositions are mostly very balanced.
