The present area rug presents a sense of exotic antique Colonialism, inspired by the Rococo past with its feature of palm trees, Indianized elephants and whimsical singerie, featuring monkey’s performing orchestral instruments which appear derived from Johann Kaendler’s popularized mid-18th century porcelain Meissen figurines of the French Horn and Bass Fiddler figurines. The perfect addition for a terrarium leading to a private garden, smoking room, library or safari-themed environs.
