Pair of silver candlesticks, from the 18th century.
Contoured base model with the shaft decorated with a shell.
The umbilicus is engraved with the initials LD perhaps for Louis Daudruy, second postmaster by name.
"See in the catalog of Goldsmiths in Flanders another pair of candlesticks identical to ours: same model, goldsmith, same initials engraved on the umbilical identified with Louis Daudruy, on the other hand the year is different, they are from 1776-1777 (Q crowned) or 1 year after ours.

DUNKERQUE, 1774-1775.
M.O: Widow Angilles.

They are in perfect condition and hallmarked: charge (dolphin), jurande (P crowned) and master silversmith (VA). 18th century silver bobèches.
