Offered by Antichità Santa Giulia
Round table made up of two consoles in walnut with an exceptional patina and elegantly balanced thicknesses.
Each console has a single axis top supported by fratinated legs joined together by richly molded crosspieces.
Northern Italy, 17th century.
Dimensions:
each console 60,5x122,5x81 (height)
joined together to form a table 121x122.5x81 cm (height)
Of great beauty when combined to create a round table, which gives maximum emphasis to the play of legs and crosspieces without sacrificing the comfort of the diners; equally fascinating they appear when separated, used as consoles leaning against the wall.
Tables of this type were in antiquity used as dining tables, or, in reception rooms, joined in the center of the room or divided and placed on the wall, below important paintings or sumptuous mirrors.
