Monstrance reliquaire de Saint Victorien - XVIIIe

"Even if there was no life other than this present life, I would remain faithful to Christ from whom I have received so many benefits. Do not count on me to obey you, even if it costs me to be delivered to the flames or to the beasts".
Victorien was then martyred. It was in Carthage in 484.

Our Monstrance reliquary in the Regency style is in carved and gilded wood decorated with hearts, scrolls, acanthus leaves, palmettes, flowers and topped with a crown. It hosts, in its center, a relic of Saint Victorien surrounded by gold threads. Victorianae was a fifth century martyr.

A wax seal on the back attests to its recognition by the ecclesiastical authority.
