Born in Moscow, son of Count Mikhail Mikhailovich Lanskoy (1863-1924), Andre Lanskoy studied in St. Petersburg, then in Kiev.
He arrived in Paris in 1921 where he attended the Grande Chaumière Academy and devoted himself entirely to painting. Wilhelm Uhde noticed him in 1924. After a long figurative period, he turned to abstraction from 1938.
In 1924, he participated in the Salon d'automne [3].
In 1960, he participated in the exhibition [Où?] "Peintres russes de l'École de Paris".
