Pair of carved and gilded wood armchairs executed by Henri Jacob.

He is the cousin of George Jacob, thanks to his protection, he works for the furniture guard of the crown.
In 1782 he provided seats and furniture for the court of Paul I of Russia at the Pavlovsk Palace.

Henri Jacob is Georges Jacob's first cousin and fourteen years younger. Originally from the Yonne region, he came to Paris to do his apprenticeship with the latter who was established as a master carpenter. Once his apprenticeship and his apprenticeship were completed, he left the workshop and moved to rue Bourbon Villeneuve. Thanks to the protection of Georges, he obtained orders from the Garde Meuble de la Couronne.
This support also allows him to become the supplier of seats for the court of Paul I of Russia. As early as 1782, he received very important orders for seats and furniture for the new palace of Pavlovsk which was under construction. He executed about two hundred seats but also furniture for the different rooms of the castle, for the large salons, the libraries and especially for the bedroom of the grand duchess.
