Bronze Panel Of La Cantoria after De Luca Della Robbia

This panel made by Barbedienne (signature engraved with a chisel) represents one of the panels made by the sculptor Della Robbia in ornamentation of a cantoria or cantor's stand located in the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore in Florence.
For the anecdote Donatello and Della Robbia each created a cantoria for the same location in the cathedral, they are now located opposite each other. This panel, like the other panels of the cantoria, represents a choir of children and adults, and on each panel the choir uses only the same instrument (cimbales, trumpets, vocals, etc.). For our panels they are tambourines.
The large size of this bronze panel recreates the statuary scale of the original model. Condition: Good used condition, cleaned and waxed, a mat black steel base was made for presentation on a piece of furniture. Dimensions: Height: 56 cm, width: 50 cm, thickness: 10 cm.

State : Good used condition, cleaned and waxed, a matte black steel base was made for presentation on a piece of furniture.
