Dial signed Causard in Paris
In red tinted tortoiseshell veneer and copper decorated with foliage scrolls. Beautiful rocaille ornamentation of chased and gilded bronzes, foliage at the amortization, a winged dragon on the bottom of the door.
The dial with enamelled cartouches indicating the hours in Roman numerals and the minutes in Arabic numerals.
Cartel of alcove, no ringing.
Modified escapement
Original gilding.
Causard or Caussard Georges Master in 1777. He was the King's watchmaker and his brother Edme, George's brother, was also the King's privileged watchmaker.
