Octagonal in shape, it rests on 4 feet and represents a cage with a decoration of vegetation in polychrome and gold enamels. The openwork lid, in the shape of a chrysanthemum, is in silvered brass and with golden leaves. At the base a red lacquer signature of Matsumoto Hozan. Period: Meji late 19th century. Small lack of lacquer, and light cracks inside. Height: 15cm. Diameter: 12cm.
