Louis XVI Encoignure stamped Héricourt

Rounded corner in satin veneer opening with two slatted leaves and a frieze drawer decorated with a Greek-shaped bronze.
Two chiseled and gilded bronze astragals ensure the separation between the drawer and the base.
Falls, masks on the feet and end of the lamp in chiseled and gilded bronze.

A pair of similar corner cupboards was part of the C.Perrier collection, Drouot sale June 14, 1912, n°70

Antoine Héricourt received master on October 20, 1773.
When he died on December 16, 1790, Héricourt was declared as a merchant cabinetmaker and carried out his activity in a house with two shops at rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, n°18.
All the goods making up its business are valued by two cabinetmakers: Jean Caumont and Conrad Mauter.
The list of his clients would be long, but it should nevertheless be remembered that he supplied the Hôtel des Menus in 1785,1786,1787 for large sums, as well as the countesses of Gramont and Duras, the prince of Marsan, the duke de Bethune and Farmer General Mazières du Breuil.
