Netsuke by Hiromitsu – A small, good and unusual model with brown highlights, showing two quails on a sheaf of millet. Signed Hiromitsu in a mother-of-pearl cartouche under the base. L.3 cm. The quails often represented in groups in the millet fields, shigi to awa, form an allusion to Fukakusa not far from Kyoto. Japan Edo (1603-1868) 19th century.
