Silver Corpus Christi - 17th century

Important figure of Christ in silver deriving from the models of Giambologna. Probably Flanders, late 16th or early 17th century .

The sculpture is worked with regrowth, the arms manufactured separately and welded. The hair, face and perizonium present a beautiful illustration of the technique of chiseling and working with the punch.
