This important seventeenth-century Lombard painting is to be related to the exquisite production of the Milanese school of the seventeenth century.
The splendid execution and the refined coloring, obviously of the highest level, suggest in fact the attribution to a very talented artist working in Milan in the second half of the XVII century.
The scene takes place in the foreground and we see warriors fighting for the bridge.
The frame is made of non contemporary blackened and gilded wood.
