This young cook is represented in a huge kitchen, alone, she is busy scaling a fish on a work surface where all sorts of victuals are waiting to be prepared, poultry, game (among others, mallard duck). At the bottom and in the foreground, baskets of fruit beautifully painted!
On the left, a basin fed by a fountain in the shape of a child riding a dolphin where a peacock is drinking.
On the ground, we can recognize sturgeons.
This small oak panel is of a rare quality of execution and we can see the hand of a Flemish painter of the first half of the 17th century around Jan Van Kessel.
Very nice condition.
