Beautiful Directoire period lacquered and rechambered wood bed with bedding, our bed is a neat production in the Jacob's taste dating from the late 18th century, 1790s.
It is a lovely piece in perfect condition to complement an 18th century setting. The bed has been completely restored less than 10 years ago, relacquered, rechambered and coordinated with the toile de Jouy bedspread. The upholstery was redone in a traditional way by an upholsterer: feather pillow and duvet, wool mattress, box spring as 100 or 150 years ago.
Provenance, old collection of Lorraine.
Structure in excellent condition: firm and robust, suitable for daily use. The foot post was lowered in the 19th century compared to the head post for a use more adapted to the needs of the time and today.
Length of the bed: 185cm
Width : 123cm
Size of the bed: 173x120cm
